Okay, I generally avoid videos of kids biffing it for a couple reasons. First, kids fall all the frickin' time, so what else is new? Second, I feel genuinely bad for them when they wipe out. That's right, you heard me: I...... CARE. Don't you dare tell anyone, because I will deny it.

My Own Personal Wipeout

So, I totally biffed it yesterday and my kids saw me and laughed hysterically. Yeah, I know. KARMA.

Here's the story: I was out on my deck in my new apartment, enjoying a smoke before dinner, and my kids were inside watching TV. By the way, the sliding glass door is kinda heavy and sticks a bit, so it can be hard to open. So I get up to go in, grab the door handle, and give it a mighty yank. My fingers totally slip, and I end up sprawled on my back on the chaise lounge.

I could hear the kids laughing, even through the thick glass. Oh, and my daughter's boyfriend was there too. And later that night, my son went out for a smoke and re-enacted my fall. Niiiiiiice. "You have learned well, Grasshopper..." A sick part of me was actually a little proud of their appreciation of the fine art of the biff, even though it was me they were laughing at.

How weird that I totally fell in the summer, while I managed to stay upright all winter long.

Slippery When Wet

I love this video for so many reasons: the guy totally slips, falls from a height, slams his head, and when his friends go, "Are you okay," he groans, "NOOOO." I know this is the ultimate in evil, but when someone asks if the person who wiped out is okay and that person goes, "No," it just makes me laugh that much harder. Don't ask me why... I can't explain it. But when it happens, I usually laugh until I can no longer breathe.

The First Biff of the Season

I'm driving the kids to school this morning, and I just happen to glance at this guy walking down the sidewalk just as he totally biffs it on the ice.

He totally went down hard. His feet flew out from under him, and if my windows had been down I'm pretty sure I would have heard him go, "Oof," when he hit the ground. I wish my windows had been down. He didn't slide on his ass, which was somewhat disappointing, but watching him try to get up totally made up for it.

The guy's feet kept slipping out from under him while he was trying to get up. It was awesome. He finally managed to get back on his feet, but he looked like an injured, deformed frog as he was getting up. His legs were all shaky and bowed out to the sides.

Here's the horrible part: I found myself feeling just a little bit bad for the guy. Yeah, I totally laughed my ass off, but I felt a little bad doing it. Holy crap, what is happening to me? I cannot have the joy of watching a sweet biff marred by... dare I say it... caring. Am I losing my appreciation for the art of the great winter wipeout? Man, I guess I just gotta toughen up. I cannot allow sympathetic tendencies to spoil my fun.

I have another blog called Bogurdine (check out my sweet links), and that blog is mostly about my life in general, but I decided I needed to branch out a little.

If you're reading this, you already know that I love to see people take huge, sweet biffs, especially if there is ice involved. I checked out this site called peoplefallingover.com, and it was a little funny, but pretty lame and seems to be inactive. So I decided to start my own blog dedicated solely to the art of the biff, and the appreciation of the painful wipeout.

If I find a funny video, you will see it. If I see an awesome biff, you will hear about it. Comment all you want, but know this: I make no apologies for my sense of humor. I don't want to hear any whines about my meanness or lack of compassion.
